Churchill Howard are working with an ambitious and rapidly growing mid-tier accountancy firm looking to establish and build a Forensic Accounting practice in Birmingham.
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Forensic Accounting Director or Partner to build a service line around their own vision, backed by an established professional services platform, existing client relationships and a growing regional presence.
You’ll have the autonomy to win work, build relationships, shape the proposition and develop your own team — with a clear route to Equity for the right individual.
What you'll be doing
• Build and grow the firm's Forensic Accounting offering across Birmingham and the wider Midlands.
• Develop relationships with law firms, insurers, corporate clients and professional advisers.
• Lead pitches and convert new opportunities into high-value assignments.
• Deliver and oversee complex commercial disputes, fraud investigations, shareholder disputes, asset tracing and matrimonial matters.
• Act as an Expert Witness, including preparation of expert reports and oral evidence.
• Work closely with Audit, Tax and Corporate Finance Partners to identify cross-referral opportunities.
• Recruit, lead and develop the forensic team as the practice grows.
• Take ownership of the strategy, profitability and reputation of the service line.
What we're looking for
• An established Forensic Accounting Director or Partner from a Big 4, Top 20, mid-tier or specialist practice.
• ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Strong track record of fee generation and business development.
• Established relationships within the legal and professional services community.
• Significant expert witness and litigation experience.
• Strong technical credibility combined with genuine entrepreneurial ambition.
• The personality and leadership capability to build a team and develop a market presence.
Why this opportunity?
Build the practice. Own the relationships. Lead the team. Shape the future.
You'll have the infrastructure and backing of an established firm without the layers of bureaucracy often associated with larger practices.
If you're an established Forensic Accounting professional who wants the freedom to build something rather than inherit something, we'd be very interested in a confidential conversation.
