This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to take ownership of a key area of regulatory finance, working closely with senior stakeholders and external regulatory bodies.
The role sits at the centre of the organisation's regulatory reporting and revenue processes, ensuring financial information is accurate, compliant and delivered within strict regulatory deadlines. You will also play an important role in maintaining and developing the financial models used to determine regulated revenue.
Key responsibilities
• Take ownership of the financial aspects of the organisation's regulatory framework, ensuring key licence, reporting and financial requirements are accurately reflected.
• Lead the annual regulatory revenue forecasting and submission process, ensuring information is robust, compliant and supports the organisation in maximising allowable revenue.
• Identify potential financial, regulatory and compliance risks and work proactively with stakeholders to address them.
• Support the development of forecasting methodologies and policies, ensuring these are effectively incorporated into the wider regulatory reporting and planning process.
• Work closely with Finance and wider business teams to deliver regulatory performance reporting and provide insight into financial performance against regulatory expectations.
• Analyse complex financial information and translate this into clear conclusions and recommendations for both finance professionals and non-financial stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain strong knowledge of the regulatory framework and act as a subject matter expert, sharing knowledge across Finance and the wider business.
• Work collaboratively with teams responsible for pricing and charging activity, providing accurate financial information and analysis where required.
• Provide high-quality advice and guidance on regulatory finance matters, ensuring complex technical issues are communicated in a clear and commercially relevant way.
• Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external regulatory contacts, influencing outcomes and supporting sound business decisions.
About you
We are looking for a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), although candidates who are very close to completing their qualification will also be considered.
You'll ideally bring:
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to work confidently with complex financial information and large datasets.
• The ability to turn detailed analysis into clear, commercially focused insight and recommendations.
• Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to challenge, influence and support decision-making at senior levels.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility across Finance and the wider business.
• Experience working in a complex organisation where accuracy, governance and deadlines are important.
• A genuine interest in regulatory finance, financial modelling or working within a regulated environment.
